I am not a food expert, or even a highly-ranked amateur, but I am curious about many of the things we eat and the process that goes into making them.

The DIY Kitchen was created to further my interest in pickling, canning, preserving, baking and making things for myself.  I’ve made beer, bread, pickles and canned numerous vegetables and I hope to share what I learn as I explore recipes and techniques.
